In the Vineyard
The vines that succumbed to the 2020 freeze have been replaced but are not yet in production. Nonetheless, we harvest just over 2 tons from our stalwart survivors. Picked into small lugs on October 7-10 the beautiful, pale purple fruit is delivered to the winery.

In the Cellar
After crushing and pressing, the juice is settled overnight and the clear juice is transferred to fermenting tanks and inoculated. The juice characteristics look great and no adjustments are made. The cool, slow fermentation runs to dryness October 17. Malo-lactic fermentation is prevented and, following cold and heat stabilization, the finished wine is flittered and bottled ready for a July release. The estate-grown grapes and the grapes received from the Grand Valley yield wines that, while both excellent, are wildly different in taste and chemistry and we decide to keep the two separate and produce an estate vintage.
